Titanium or acetate: which frame suits you?

Titanium or acetate? It is a question that often comes up at the optician. The honest answer: it depends on what you are looking for. And with us, you do not always have to choose.

Titanium: light and refined

Titanium is the material for anyone who does not want to feel their glasses. It is light, strong and keeps its shape. The rim can be very thin, so the frame stays modest and lets your face do the talking. The colour is in the metal: from gold and rose gold to gunmetal and matt black, often with a coloured front.

Acetate: colour and character

Acetate is a plastic based on natural raw materials, such as cotton and wood pulp. The material is fuller and warmer than metal. It lends itself to colours you cannot get in titanium: transparent tints, colour gradients and the classic havana and tortoiseshell pattern. An acetate frame has more presence. It is meant to be seen.

The best of both

In our collection the two come together. An acetate front with ultra-thin titanium temples. Or a titanium frame with a coloured acetate inner rim. For this we use acetate by Mazzucchelli. That gives you the colour of acetate and the light wearing comfort of titanium.

What suits you?

  • Do you want glasses you barely feel? Choose titanium.
  • Do you love colour and an outspoken shape? Choose an acetate front.
  • Not sure? Then the combination gives you the best of both.

The best way to choose is to try them on. At the optician you feel the difference straight away. View the collection, or find a point of sale near you.
